Hot Wuthering Heights reading action!

Aaaah yes, World War I, The Great War, the major downside of any time travel Victorian romance. It only struck me recently during history class that what with conscription and all, Tom, Jack, Morris and Louis would all have been forced to serve in the war.
I couldn't see Tom being a conscientious objector (Putting aside the horrible treatment "conchies" received for not going to war), even if Hatsune told him exactly what went down during the war, he's just far too willing to sacrifice himself for others sake.

A few people has brought up WWI as a possibility in the MD universe, and as to whether it'll actually make an appearance or not...Who knows?

Yeesssss, the moral quandaries of time travel. Do you have a moral prerogative to preserve the timeline as best you can, or is it more important that you help people around you to the best of your ability, and to hell with history?

Yep, just for you Ryan! ;)
Really, that's a question that keeps you up nights. I don't think Hats is too bothered about timeline preservation operating on the logic that she already seems to have screwed it up beyond belief locally, but I think she's weary about larger events. But even if Hatsune were to say, rat out Dragutin Dimitrijević and have all the Young Bosnia group put behind bars thereby preventing the assassination of the archduke, would it even stop WWI? While that did act as the catalyst for war, something else could easily spark political tensions later on and possibly have even more disastrous consequences, who knows?

It would be tricky, and yes, there is no way she could know all the possible consequences of such an action, but when it comes down to it, she knows that the assassination starts WWI. Sure if she stops it something else might come along later to start a war, but it's not certain. This is all thinking rather small too, I mean, the very fact that she has traveled backwards through time would be enough to spark a new renaissance of sorts in the scientific world...if she could prove it that is, could change the world far more than a war could.

Indeed she could, but would revealing that she's from the future bring change for good? What if that lead to the perfection and wide-spread adoption of time travel? I can only see that ending in all sorts of tears. On the other hand, she could lead a scientific revolution of introducing new technologies to the old world and tackle problems that are rife today before they even happen, that would have positive repercussions, one would assume,
